You Are Not a Gardener without Gardening Magazines

All artists or professionals, no matter the business, have subscriptions to magazines and periodicals that have to do with their craft. The world of gardening is no different because they have gardening magazines that deal with all types of issues that are prevalent to the gardening community. Within the larger magazine realm of gardening, there are also seed magazines which deal with new seed varieties and/or new ways to improve seed gardening.

Some of the more popular magazines for gardening are Southern Living, The Practical Gardener, and Sunset. These magazines all focus on some aspect of gardening. The most popular, however, is Southern Living. The reason for the popularity of this garden/seed magazine is that the southern climate is ideal for growing many of the beautiful gardens in the country.

Extra, Extra Read All About It

Due to extreme popularity, it is reasonable that we should take a look at the what Southern has to offer the gardener. Southern Living is divided into six main sections: Travel, Gardens, Homes, Foods, Southwords, and Directories. In the travel section you will find articles about traveling in the south. Whether you have time for a long vacation or just a quick weekend getaway, Southern Living has you covered. The garden section features helpful information on all types of gardening and even has a section where readers can write in with their questions.

The homes section has everything from decorating tips to house plans. The food section always has great southern recipes ranging from simple desserts to delicious main dishes. The food section also has seasonal features such as thanksgiving and Christmas recipes. Southwords are articles dispersed throughout the magazine covering everything from books about the south to short stories of remembered places, vacations, and childhoods from the south.

No matter the type of garden magazine you decide to swap with or to, you should always find something interesting to read about in each and everyone of them whether it is a new recipe for your squash or how to pick the right seed for your dream garden.
